# Spot inks and cut lines, in the file your printshop prints.

Spot inks and cut contours: part of Pixonaut, web-to-print software. Named inks print as spot colours on plates of their own, and a shaped product’s cut path travels with its print. On every plan.

Plans: Every plan.

## Spot inks

An ink is a named colour your printshop mixes: a Pantone, a metallic, a white. Fill a layer with it, and the print carries it as a spot colour of that name.

- Each spot ink prints on a separation plate of its own where the printshop’s machine takes plates
- Each ink has a CMYK fallback for a machine that does not, or refuses the order, as you choose
- You enter the inks you use; there is no bundled Pantone library
- Palettes offer your inks to customers by name

## Cut contours

A sticker, a label or a die-cut sign has a cut shape. Its print carries the cut path on a layer that never prints, drawn as CutContour, or as Thru-cut, Kiss-cut, Die, DieCut or Cut where the cutter reads that name.

- The combined file: the artwork, the cut path and the marks
- The print alone, and the cut alone for the cutter’s software
- Registration marks for Summa OPOS and Roland cutters

## White, varnish and spot varnish

For UV printers, a machine can lay a white underbase made from the artwork’s shape, so colour shows on a dark or clear material, and a varnish over the whole print or only where a layer is marked Varnish. Each is drawn under the spot name the printer’s RIP reads.
